Black Marxism Reading Group
Events over the last few years have exposed the deeply embedded relationship between racism and capitalism, but they have also illuminated the ongoing persistence and relevance of black radicalism as a tradition of resistance to it. This workshop will explore these themes and politics through the famous work of Cedric J. Robinson’s Black Marxism: The Making of the Black Radical Tradition, in conjunction with the book's recent republishing this year with its Third Edition.
Kieron Turner is a PhD student focusing on BDS activism as decolonial praxis, and an activist with Apartheid Off Campus & Palestine Action.

PhD candidate from the Department of Geography at UCL and recipient of the Windsor Fellowship Scholarship, Tissot is a member of the board for the International Centre for Racism at Edge Hill University. He is also the co-host of the Surviving Society Podcast, which explores the local and global politics of race and class from a sociological perspective.
