Culture in the Culture War

Monday 27th September3pm4:30pm
Brighthelm Centre - Auditorium

Both New Socialist and TWT have often made the point that culture is at least partly where socialism happens. The culture war isn’t a distraction from struggles around employment or housing, but a key theatre in our resistance against the forces of reaction. But what forms can this resistance take? How should we address ‘identity’ struggles in popular culture, from footballers taking the knee to the transphobia in Britain’s liberal media? How can we combat the dearth of working class voices in the arts? And who can we count on as allies?

This event will be recorded. Subscribe to the TWT Youtube to make sure not to miss it once it's up!
