Winning Climate Justice 2: Organising Skills

Learn about practical opportunities and skills needed to act on the ideas identified in the “Winning Climate Justice 1: Call for Action” session. The left is uniquely placed to offer climate solutions based on system change to serve the many and should organise around these issues to make our voices heard. In this interactive session we will break into small groups to discuss practical skills for organising around decentralised, mass mobilisations planned for November 6th in the run up to the UN Climate Talks taking place in Glasgow in November 2021. Learn how YOU can help organise people in your local area and have our voices heard this November.

Stuart Melvin is a union, community and online-to-offline social movement organiser of 20 years experience.

Climate activist and Labour Councillor for Northfield.

Organiser with Labour for a Green New Deal.

Camille Barbagallo is a postdoctoral researcher. Her research focuses on ‘women’s work’ that is both waged and unwaged and addresses questions of gender, social reproduction and labour relations. She is the editor of Women and the Subversion of the Community: A Mariarosa Dalla Costa Reader (PM Press, 2019) and author of Mothers & Others: The Politics of Work in Neoliberal Britain (MUP, forthcoming). For Decrim Now she focuses on the unionisation of sex workers, strippers, dancers and hostesses.
