Culture is Ordinary: Raymond Williams Centenary
On the centenary year of Raymond Williams’ birth, we want to have a participatory discussion on two of his key ideas, democratic cultural production and democratic self-organisation. To facilitate the discussion we will speak to cultural producers and political activists about the lessons of lockdown and what socialistic cultures need to emerge to challenge the dominant hierarchical cultures of neoliberal white supremacist patriarchy, and realisable alternatives in our everyday organising practices, as well as our big institutions.
