The Labour Left's resistance to state violence & the war on the working class

Saturday 25th September7:30pm9pm
Friends Meeting House

From Black Lives Matter and protests against the police crackdown Bill, to workers fighting fire and rehire or the Government’s mishandling of the pandemic, we’ve seen growing resistance to the Tories – even if the Labour leadership has offered “constructive opposition”. In this session we’ll discuss the relationship between the Labour Left and these movements for justice in the workplace and in our communities – how do we fight to ensure Labour supports them? And what can we learn from previous struggles against the state and the war on the working class – from Tolpuddle to the Miners' Strike?

Particpants/Speakers:

Young Labour BAME officer and founder of Sheffield BLM

Labour MP for Wansbeck and former trade union leader.
