Learning from Latin Village: Community planning and the future of radical municipalism

Tuesday 28th September5:30pm7pm
Old Steine Gardens - North Tent

For 17 years a corporate-led regeneration scheme threatened the Wards Corner ‘Latin Village’ market in Tottenham with demolition. The Save Latin Village campaign took on the developers and this summer they won. Hear about the dramatic and inspirational struggle from the people involved. Explore their community plan which represents more than the restoration of a neglected market building: it is a new, democratic model of urban development that benefits the people who live in an area, rather than distant corporate interests. Come along and help determine what happens next.
